The twelve-tool problem.

Commercial property management has a software problem that nobody outside the industry talks about. The typical CRE operator runs on twelve different tools — one for contracts, one for invoicing, one for common-cost calculations, one for tenant communication, one for reporting to investors, three different spreadsheets that bridge the gaps between the others, and a custom Access database from 2008 that nobody understands but nobody wants to touch. The data lives in twelve places, the team reconciles by email, and the monthly close takes a week longer than it should.

Estatelab is the bet that one cloud-native system can replace the twelve. Founded in Oslo in 2020, the platform automates the routine — contract management, invoicing, common-cost allocation, reporting — and centralizes the data so KPIs are real-time, not month-end. It's the kind of category-killer that's obvious in hindsight: the unsexy back-office software for an industry that runs on twenty-year-old tools.

We invested because the founders knew the pain by name. Erik, Magnus, and Christoffer didn't pitch us a category disruption deck — they pitched us the spreadsheet they'd been forced to maintain for a previous employer. That's how you know the product is real.

Today Estatelab is the system Norwegian CRE operators reach for when they're done waiting for their incumbent vendor to ship a usable mobile interface.
